If Michelle Obama and Donald Trump were to run for US president today, Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the US, would lose, according to a new Daily Mail poll. Michelle Obama has never indicated that she would like to run for president, and last month her office made it clear that Joe Biden's reelection was completely supported.

But many members of the Democratic party are in favor of the notion that the former first lady might serve as a substitute for the 81-year-old president. According to a special DailyMail.com/J.L. Partners poll, she wouldn't be superior over Trump in a make-believe matchup. In a hypothetical matchup, she would lose by three points, according to a poll of 1000 potential voters. For a while now, some have been promoting Michelle Obama as an emergency parachute for Biden, according to pollster James Johnson, cofounder of J.L. Partners.

However, it appears that people are just as eager to support Trump over Michelle than they are for Biden, with Trump defeating her both overall and among Independents. "This poll puts paid to the idea she can be any kind of saving force for the Democrats, which was never very realistic." From March 20 to 24, J.L. Partners conducted a survey of 1000 potential voters using landlines, cellphones, SMS, and apps. There is a 3.1% error margin around the results.
