A privately owned radio FM station, Fresh FM 106.9 FM, based in Ekiti State, has reportedly banned the airplay of any song and contents placed under the banner of Marlian Records until further notice due to the sudden death of Mohbad, a former Marlian label signee.
It was revealed in a statement that was signed by Oluwaseunfunmi Williams, Fresh FM Head of production and Music Content.
In another development, it has been reported that another radio station, Splash FM 105.5 based in Ibadan, Oyo state, has banned the playing of songs by Naira Marley on the ground of the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of Mohbad.
Mohbad, who was a former signee of Naira Marley died at the age of 27 last Tuesday under circumstances that are mysterious.
It was further revealed that The Nigerian Police has on Monday set up a special investigative team in other to probe the death of Mohbad, the team is expected to submit an interim report on or before two weeks.
