Email is an effective form of event marketing due to its ability to access an invitee directly with personalized event invitations, reminders, and updates. Get started with an email campaign—one-off or series, in fact—only promoting your event in which it includes a visible call to action that prompts the recipient to RSVP or register.

Use compelling subject lines and preview text which highlight a value or a benefit to the recipient. Spice it up with graphical elements: use images, infographics or any other way you find fit to show the venue, or the speakers, or just the agenda, in a way that lights up excitement among the attendees.

Tell them what to expect: the date, time, location, and agenda of your event. Make a clear CTA: what is it that you want them to do, e.g. register or RSVP. Finally, right before the events kick off, it's always good to send an update and follow-up reminder to keep your attendees engaged.

And after the events, you can go ahead and thank all attendees, preferably with some highlights, pictures, or even recordings of what happened during the event, nudging them in the process to participate in other activities in the future. This, when well-strategized on how to promote an event through email, will have you spiking your attendance and interest and, therefore, the general success of the event.
