Many plants lack standardized dosages and formulations, raising questions regarding consistency and potential negative effects. Furthermore, it's not always clear how herbs and common drugs interact with one another.

The medical industry places a strong emphasis on evidence-based procedures and bases treatment recommendations on substantial clinical studies and research. Even while some herbal remedies have potential, the scientific community often needs thorough, peer-reviewed research before fully adopting a particular therapy.

Doctors also prioritize the health and safety of their patients. recommending therapies without enough scientific support.
 
I think it might be because herbal medicines contain other chemical components found naturally in the herbs which might affect the patient negatively or have side effects which are very harmful.
Unlike synthetic medicines which have been scientifically treated and only the specific components needed to treat a particular disease is extracted and used.
 
It depends though, most doctors would advise a patient to go for herbs because we as humans tend to abuse things. No matter if its natural or not, too much of everything is bad. The doctor would not be there to monitor how you take these things, hence he won't even tell you about it. Then again for some it goes against their practice. Its like you telling an accountant who used calculator all through his school years that the use of calculator is wrong.
 
Herbal medicine have its own disadvantage and advantages too, the substance use to produce the herbal medicine determines , many doctors don’t prescribe about natural medicine , they don’t have any experience about such therapies in medical school
